Falun Gong Club Wins Two First-place Awards in Missouri State University Homecoming Parade

(Clearwisdom.net) The Missouri State University Falun Gong Club participated in the homecoming festival parade and won two first-place awards, for best float and best group on foot. Last year the club won the first-place award for student clubs in the homecoming festival.

Missouri State University is located in Springfield, the third-largest city in the state. In this year’s homecoming festival, the Falun Gong club gave an exercise demonstration, and entered a float, dance group and waist drum group into the parade. The float was decorated with lotus flowers and the waist drum team wore yellow costumes. Both received rounds of applause and praise from spectators.

There were also many Chinese spectators, including some Chinese students who recently came to the US. Many of them waved to the Falun Gong practitioners, took photos and were happy to see the beautiful float.

In the exhibition for clubs and colleges after the parade, the Falun Gong club’s booth caught the attention of many visitors. Some people learned the exercises on the spot.

Four young women passed by the stand and were surprised to learn that such a good practice was persecuted in China. After learning the facts, they learned the exercises. Many students were interested in the sitting meditation and learned the fifth exercise on the spot. A few of the students could sit with legs double-crossed.

Many students came to express their support for Falun Gong, and their objection to the persecution. They said they would ask their elected officials in their districts to help stop the persecution.

One Chinese girl came to learn the facts about Falun Gong. She said she had heard of the persecution, but did not know much. She took some Falun Gong information brochures and a CD, and said she would read carefully.

Germany: “What Can I Do for You?”

(Clearwisdom.net) On October 31, Ms. Ren, a Chinese lady living in Munich, Germany, happened upon Falun Gong practitioners’ peaceful demonstration against the persecution and Quitting the Chinese Communist Party activity. She expressed her support and asked what she could do for them.

The practitioners’ activities were held in front of a big church in Munich. They called for an end to the 10-year long persecution and expressed support for the 62 million Chinese who had withdrawn from the Communist Party and its affiliated organizations.

Many people came up to ask if they could sign the petition to support Falun Gong. They stopped to read the informational materials and the display board. They were shocked by the brutality of the persecution.

Ms. Ren and her two daughters passed by the church. The young girls were attracted to the Falun Gong exercises, and told their mom that they wanted to learn. Ms. Ren talked to practitioners, expressing her support and signing the petition to condemn the persecution. While the adults were talking, the young girls learned all the exercises.

Germany: People Learn the Truth on Information Day

[Clearwisdom.net] On October 17, 2009, Falun Dafa practitioners in Sachsen-Anhalt in Halle, Germany held an information day to raise awareness of the Chinese Communist Party’s (CCP) brutal persecution of practitioners in China.

After about a week of snowy and rainy weather, the outdoor temperature was just about 40 degrees F. In Marktplatz, however, many people came to view the display set up by the practitioners. In a light rain, several practitioners demonstrated the Falun Gong exercises while others distributed fliers to every visitor.

Pointing to photos which illustrated how the Chinese Communist Regime torture Falun Gong practitioners, a German woman said: “I know these. The Vietnam Communist Regime also used “Bamboo Penetrating into finger nails” as illustrated here. Pouring cold water onto people in winter time is also not a stranger to me. East Germany did just that.” A practitioner then told her: “The evil nature of communist parties is all the same: Vietnam Communist Party, Soviet Communist Party, Communist Party of Germany, and Chinese Communist Party (CCP). They are all evil. However, the CCP has taken it to the extreme. The lady nodded in agreement and said, “They are inhumane. This is why we German people don’t want the Communist Party.”

Petition Against the Persecution

Every year, many Chinese students come to Germany to pursue advanced degrees. Two new Chinese students came to view the display. When handed informational materials, including the Nine Commentaries on the Communist Party, they gladly accepted them. They later on chatted with a practitioner and were very open to discussing topics such as the CCP’s human rights atrocities and the persecution of Falun Gong.

One of the students said, “I do not understand why the CCP blocks the internet. In China it is very difficult to browse websites from the U. S. I used your software tools which helped me break through the blockade.”

The other student said, ” In my freshmen class there was a student who practiced Falun Gong. After graduation, our class mentor maintained contact with all our classmates except him. We don’t know his whereabouts. In China, if you practice Falun Dafa, you can be arrested anytime. We all know that. To be honest, I admire your courage and your belief. People like us who seek only money are very pitiful.”

At the end of the conversation, the practitioner told them about the grand global Quitting the CCP movement and encouraged them to quit. They nodded their heads seriously.

Although they stood in the cold wind and rain for almost eight hours, all the practitioners felt happy and warm in their hearts. A western practitioner from another city said: “The weather was very bad. However, I met my friends and relatives in Halle and told them about Falun Dafa. It was really a pleasant surprise.”

Daughter Surprised at 10-Year Sentence of Mother in China

Asks President Obama to intervene to save her mother from torture and death

WASHINGTON―As President Obama and his entourage prepare for their trip to China, Washington, D.C., resident Jin Pang has a request for the president when he speaks with Communist officials in November.

Pang is hoping most of all that Mr. Obama will bring her mother to the U.S. in the same way that former President Clinton brought back journalists Euna Lee and Laura Ling, from another Communist country, North Korea. Short of that goal, the daughter wants something to be done to reverse the sentencing of her mother, who is being persecuted for her beliefs. She would also like to be able to see her mother, who has not been allowed to see any family members since her arrest more than a year ago.

Ms. Pang, 25, has been denied contact with her mother Cao Junping, 52, since the latter was detained last year on July 29 in Weifang, a city about 270 miles south-east of Beijing. After 15 months, on Oct. 18, her mother was sentenced to 10-years in a rushed, closed door ‘trial,’ in which the court did not inform the family, their attorney was not welcome at the sentencing hearing, and where the prosecutor lacked evidence, according to Pang.

“My mom was arrested because she is a practitioner of Falun Gong, a peaceful meditation discipline that was banned in China in 1999,” said  Pang, who is a Missouri State University graduate. Her aunt, Cao Junfeng, also a practitioner and her mother’s elder sister, was arrested July 9, a few weeks earlier. According to the official explanation, the two sisters and over 100 other practitioners were held in Weifang’s detention center because the regime wanted the Olympics to go smoothly without disruptions, which they say Falun Gong practitioners will cause.

But the court’s actions of delaying the trial of her mother 15 months belie their explanation of the so-called “Peaceful Olympics.” After the Summer Olympics of 2008 were completed in Aug. 2008, logically Cao, her sister and others would have been released at that time.

“Because there was no evidence of wrongdoing, local officials delayed my mother’s case for a year’s time. Due to a lack of evidence, the [Kuiwen District] Court has not been able to hear the case, and it was sent back to the prosecutors’ office (‘Jiancha Yuan’),” said  Pang.

Lack of evidence means that Pang’s mother wasn’t seen talking to people about the persecution of Falun Gong, or telling people about the practice, or distributing the Nine Commentaries. The latter document is a historical account of the Communist Party that reveals its deceitful and violent past. The regime makes it their number one priority to block access to any reference to it.

All of the above actions are really not wrong, according to Ms. Pang, who also practices Falun Gong freely in the United States. “But the court has to follow its own laws and procedures and didn’t do so in my mother’s case,” said Pang.

After delaying for 15 months, suddenly on Oct. 16, the Weifang City District Court posted an announcement at the courthouse, which Pang’s father periodically checks. It said her mother’s sentencing hearing was set on Oct. 18. Members of the family were barred from attending, and it was not possible for their attorney to attend on such short notice.

On the same day Pang’s mother was sentenced, her sister Cao Junfeng, and two other Falun Gong practitioners were sentenced at the Hanting District Court to nine years, and another practitioner was sentenced to four years.

Pang is especially worried about the torture and deaths of practitioners residing at Weifang City.

“For such a small provincial-level city of Weifang, the number of Falun Gong practitioners persecuted to death in Weifang is one fortieth of all practitioners persecuted to death in China,” said Pang who learned this from practitioners in China who are able to report to outsiders of conditions and deaths.

“Perhaps you remember a case reported by the Wall Street Journal that saw a strong reaction in the U.S. of Falun Gong practitioner Chen Zi-xiu being persecuted to death. This case also took place in my hometown of Weifang,” said Pang. Life has been especially hard on the family. After Cao Junping’s arrest in July 2008, their house was raided twice and valuable items stolen by the police. The family’s personal car was taken and still has not been returned. Altogether, the private property of the household that was stolen from them is worth around $80,000, according to Pang.

At the detention center in Weifang, and also in Qingzhou, her mother was interrogated, starting on Aug. 8, 2008. “…for five days and four nights straight; six people took turns interrogating her for 24-hours. They did not permit her to sleep and if she closed her eyes, they would splash cold or hot water on her. They also forced her to sit a long time in an iron chair and tortured her so long she lost control of her bowels; only then did they stop for one day,” said Pang. “Then they tortured her in the same way for four consecutive days and three nights, after which she had a high fever.”

Pang worries about her mother’s health too. Cao Junping’s feet were injured in a car accident and there are still iron plates there for support, making walking very difficult.

“As the only daughter in our family, not only can I not comfort my mother, she now faces a 10-year prison sentence. What dark days lie ahead! My father is currently home alone bearing all this unfair treatment. Afraid that his elderly mother and father-in-law will be unable to bear the news, he has not informed them of my mother’s situation.”

The message Pang has for President Obama:

“Dear President Obama: Now that you are going to visit China, please help free my innocent, good mother and bring her back here. Although everyday my heart is in pain, I remain hopeful. When I see the freedom in America, I know that no one should be persecuted and tortured because of their beliefs.”

Du from Fujian Province lived during the Qing Dynasty (1644 to 1912). He was a Buddhist devotee and appeared to be quite pious. He ate a simple vegetarian meal every day and did not drink alcohol. He often bragged about attaining the Dao and ascending to heaven very soon. He urged his family to purify their minds and bodies and to await the moment of departure. His family members did not laugh in front of him and agreed. One day when Du took a nap he had a dream he remembered clearly after he woke up. In the dream, he came to a place where deities appeared to live. There were several people, and upon seeing Du, they got up and welcomed him. They invited him to sit down and asked him to read a book.

How can one achieve Buddhahood with a human heart

When Du  realized that the book criticized Buddhism, he became upset and wanted to leave. The people who welcomed him said, “The person who is very familiar with the book should be here soon to explain it to you, so please stay.” Suddenly, a beautiful woman arrived and said with a smile, “I came here to explain the book to you. Why don’t you stay a little longer?”

She then sat down next to Du , leaned her body against his, held his wrist and read the book with him. At this point Du was completely smitten by the woman and could only think of her. He did not want to offend her. Therefore, no matter what she said, even if it was negative criticism of Buddhism, Du  remained quiet. He heard people laughing. They said, “How can you achieve Buddhahood with those human desires?” Du woke up suddenly and realized that it was a dream.

From that time forward he understood that he was far from attaining Fruit Status and felt very ashamed. He stopped boasting about attaining the Dao.

Beyond the Red Wall: The Persecution of Falun Gong

A Buddhist in His 90s Moved by the Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance Art Exhibit: “I Have Never Seen Such a Compassionate Buddha Sculpture!”

(Clearwisdom.net) “I was born in 1917. I have seen countless numbers of Buddha statues in temples since I was young. But it is the first time I have seen such a compassionate Buddha statue! Indeed! Look at the facial expression…” Ninety-one-year-old Mr. Seol stood in front of the artwork “Buddha Statue” for a long time with his hands pressed together in front of his chest.

Mr. Seol became a Buddhist when he was young. Three words on a poster, “Truth-Compassion-Forbearance,” caught his attention at a train station one day. The poster told about the Truth-Compassion-Forbearance Art Exhibition at the Busan Cultural Center from September 4 to 15, 2009. Mr. Seol kept exclaiming as he studied the artwork, saying that he hoped he would be able to see the exhibition again in the future. When he heard the artists were Falun Gong practitioners. Mr. Seol said, “Yes, one couldn’t have created such artwork without a pure heart. Not every artist would be able to this.”

There was a steady stream of visitors to the exhibition.

Busan is the second largest city in Korea. This was the tenth Truth-Compassion-Forbearance Art Exhibition to be held in Busan. The show attracted many people interested the arts, culture, and politics.

President of the Busan Art Society Mr. Choi Sang Yoon visited the exhibition on the first day and said, “I sincerely appreciate what these artists have sacrificed to save others!” In his opinion the artwork reflected the basic human moral issues and were examples of true art. “There are usually three basic types of techniques. One can tell with the first glance that these artworks guide the viewer to pursue justice, they call out through art and best unfold the true meaning of art…I am very moved. There was one moment I seemed almost to have stopped breathing. I was so shaken that I was frozen.”

Mr. Song, Busan Art Association Branch Director, said he was surprised to see the artwork, which not only exposed the pain the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) inflicted upon innocent Falun Gong practitioners, but also showed the compassion of the practitioners. He said, “It is surprising to see the compassion in these artworks despite such hardships.”

People from all walks of life visited the exhibition. The exhibition hall was filled with people on the weekends. Many visitors left messages in the guest book. Mr. Cho wrote, “Thank you for the heart-purifying artwork! I pray that the light of Truth-Compassion-Forbearance will brighten society!”

Because of the large number of visitors, the exhibition was extended by two days. The Mayor of Busan and government officials from different districts visited the exhibition on Monday, September 14. They gained new understandings of Falun Gong and saw the CCP atrocities through the art exhibition.

Novelette: Aunt Zhao

around 50 years old. Even though she dresses very plainly, she actually
always shows a noble character. From her stature and appearance, you
can tell that she must have been very beautiful when she was young.

One time during one of our chats, I asked her: “Aunt Zhao, you must
have been a beautiful woman when you were young.” Aunt Zhao laughed. My
mother said: “Aunt Zhao is not only beautiful, but also comes from a
family of scholars over many generations. Her father was a mayor.”

I was very surprised when I heard that. Uncle Zhao was a person who
does his duty and is not handsome. He always does different kinds of
odd jobs in the factory. How did Aunt Zhao marry Uncle Zhao? I felt
that there must be a story behind that.

Aunt Zhao looked at me and laughed again. She said: “You must have a
lot of imagination. There is not much to talk about in my family. Many
Chinese families had the similar experience. It likes listening to Ping
Shu. You will know the result right after you listen to the beginning
of it.

I was afraid that Aunt Zhao would not talk about it. So I said: “Please tell us. I really want to listen to your story.”

Aunt Zhao said: “My father was a mayor before the Cultural
Revolution.  From the beginning of the Cultural Revolution
movement, my father was persecuted.  Every day, his reputation was
attacked. Soon after, our whole family was forced to move to a distant
and remote village. It was very harsh over there. After the Cultural
Revolution, my family was moved back to the city. My father was afraid
of being persecuted again. He did not want to be the government
official anymore. He even asked my sister and me to marry factory
workers. In our family, the parent makes decisions. But we do know that
whatever they do is for our benefit.  Now when we look back,
nothing they did not made much difference.”

“Why do you say that?” I asked.

“I married a worker. He is neither rich nor poor. He always does what
he is supposed to do.  In theory, he should not provoke the
Communist Party. But he got rheumatism and did not get better after
long treatment. So he started to practice Falun Gong.  Soon he
recovered. Therefore, he kept on practicing Falun Gong. Who knew that
he would become a victim of the persecution started by the evil Chinese
Communist Party? That is why I said that my father still did not see
through the evil Party after so many years of hardship. The evil Party
can attack anyone they want. Things will not be good as long as the
evil Party is in control.

My mother and I nodded our head silently. Aunt Zhao continued:” While
we are talking about the experiences we had when we were young, there
are two things worth mentioning. They affected my whole life.”

I become very interested in what she is going to say.

(Part Two)

My mother was a little princess from a big family. She is not only
beautiful, proficient in poetry, but also gentle and cultivated.

When my father was persecuted, my family was in a mess. We did not have
enough to eat. My mother had never experienced such hardship. At that
time, a leader from the rebel group liked my mother. He talked to my
mother and asked her to draw a demarcation line with my father. As long
as my mother accepted his request, my mother would have a same life as
before. My mother rejected it without any hesitation.

Later on, our whole family was forced to move to a village.  At
that time, I was only ten years old. My brother and sister were still
young. We were forced to do physical work.  We did not have enough
food. Instead, we were insulted all the time. Once he received the
order from his boss, the village head would force our whole family to
walk the streets. Therefore, the kids did not play with me. They
laughed at me all the time. My mom held me in her arm and cried many
times.

A government official liked my mother because of her good looks. He
came and talked to my mother. He told her: as long as you divorce your
husband, you can go back to the city with your three kids right
away.  My mother rejected his proposal. That official said:” You
have to think about it clearly. Otherwise, you will be regretful.” My
mother said:” If I go with you right now, I will regret it for the rest
of my life. The cloud can not block the sun. When all these things are
cleared up, how could I face my husband? “

When my father heard about this, he was deeply moved. He said that he
always felt hope whenever he thought about this during those endless
dark days.

Many years later, when my mother moved back to city, the first thing
she said was:” Look at us, we have passed those difficult days. It
seems that there is no fire mountain that we could not cross.”

In 1999, the Chinese communist party started to persecute Falun Gong.
If you insist on practicing Falun Gong, you will be tortured. In front
of those lies, I was frustrated. That day when the police asked me to
sign the paper, I suddenly remembered my mother. Falun Gong made a very
sick person into a healthy person. Falun Gong saved my life. How could
I do such things to against my own heart just for current benefit? When
the policeman asked me why I did not sign the paper the second time, I
told him my mother’s story. In addition, I also told him:
“Currently I face a choice I have to make, just like my mother. If I
sign this paper, I will regret it for the rest of my life.” That
policeman was silent for a while and said:” Please do the Falun Gong
exercise at home. I did not know that you also practice Falun Gong.”

There is another incident that happened a few years after we moved back
to the city. My brother and sister had married. One day when I went
home after work, I saw a man who looked like a peasant sitting on the
sofa. He looked familiar. After I took a second look, I realized that
he was the head of the village where we had been banished to. I became
very angry. Didn’t he think that he had done enough to hurt my family?
How dare he still come to my home? His face moved with a little bit of
difficulty. Maybe he does not know how to talk to me. I gave him a
quick look with my side vision and then looked at my mother. I
originally wanted to address him with a murderous look. After I saw my
mother’s eye, I lowered my head. I heard my mother said: “This is your
uncle. Why did not you greet him? How come you don’t have any manners?”
I had no choice but to call him Uncle. I then went to my own room.

In my room, I heard that the village head say:  “I really beg your
pardon.  I did such terrible things to your whole family before.
Now I come here to bother you again. I really have no choice. I sold my
house, anything, which was worth any money. But I still did not have
enough money.”

“Please do not talk about that. That’s all in the past. Early tomorrow morning, you can check into the hospital.”

The next day, the village head left. I started to explore. After I
finished, my mother said calmly:  “When I first saw him it also
hurt me very much. I think that he remembers what he did to us. Only if
he did not have any other choice would he come to our home. After I
asked him, I know. His only son got leukemia.  Heaven has punished
him. Why do we need to do something extra? “

Later I heard that the village head did not save his son’s life.
Instead he owes a little money to other people. A few years later, he
died because of sadness. During the Cultural Revolution, this village
head did a lot of evil things to the people who were banished to that
village. He forced them to do heavy work with extended long hours. He
forced them to walk in the street. He held public meetings to criticize
them. He thought that he would be fine as long as he obeyed the command
of upper level officials. But he did not know that there is heaven
above his upper level official. Heaven’s law is fair. In the end, his
family was ruined within a few years. This reminds me of those
policemen who were involved in the Falun Gong persecution. If you are
one of those policemen, please wake up. Don’t wait until heaven starts
to punish you.

My mother’s kindness brought her happiness in her late years. She is
still very strong even though she is ninety years old. She can eat
anything. All her children and grand children are very nice to her. I
think that I should call it a case of “Happiness Comes in late years!”

There is an old saying: Good will be reward with good, and evil with evil. This is really true.

Sydney: Introducing Falun Dafa at the Granny Smith Festival

(Clearwisdom.net) On October 17, Falun Gong practitioners from Sydney attended the annual Granny Smith Festival in Eastwood. This was the 9^th time that they were invited to this festival.

Almost 300 groups representing different cultures participated. They displayed their own food, products, and handcrafts. The organizers set up six stages for performances and held a fireworks show. More than a hundred thousand people attended the festival.

Falun Gong practitioners also took part in the festival parade. Their group consisted of four teams. The Divine Land Marching Band led the teams, and their performance attracted many spectators. After the band, practitioners performed a traditional Chinese fan dance. Then came a float decorated with golden lotus flowers. Practitioners demonstrated the exercises on the float. The last team was made up of the traditional waist drum players.

Practitioners demonstrated the exercises and performed dances on the largest stage. They also set up two booths, handing out informational materials and collecting signatures on a petition. They taught many people the exercises.

A Chinese gentleman told practitioners that he had been looking for Falun Gong. He is from China but was visiting Australia. He said: “I cannot find Falun Gong in China. I know it is good and the persecution is wrong.” Practitioners told him about the movement to withdraw from the Chinese Communist Party. He was happy to quit. He learned the exercises and took a lot of truth-clarifying materials, including an exercise instruction video and a copy of the Nine Commentaries on the Communist Party.

Many Westerners said that they wanted to learn the exercises and asked for information about local exercise sites. Some of them felt the peaceful energy field.

Visitors show great interest in Falun Gong

With the host’s permission, Falun Gong set up two booths at the expo. Photos on the left introduced Falun Gong (also known as Falun Dafa) and its spread around the world. Truth-clarifying leaflets in various languages, exercise videos and Falun Gong books were laid out on the table. Photos on the right exposed the Chinese Communist Party’s (CCP) brutal persecution of practitioners who follow the principles of Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance. On the table were petition forms calling on the CCP to stop persecuting Falun Gong. Practitioners told people about the ten years of persecution and torture in China.

A well-dressed lady from Stockholm, Linda, talked with practitioners while her daughter learned to fold paper lotus flowers in front of the booth. Finally she and her daughter both signed the petition form to support Falun Gong. Shortly after they left, the two returned with a tall gentleman, Linda’s husband Anders. After signing the petition form, he said, “I know very well that these things (CCP’s persecution) are all true. Our whole family is behind you!”

Lars came from Gävle. When he saw Falun Gong’s booth, he said excitedly that this was his first time at the expo. He did not expect to see Falun Gong here. There was a practice site near where he lived. Practitioners were all so kind. A local practitioner taught him the exercises for free. Later he was too busy to carry on. He said, “I have the book and exercise video. I will continue to practice when I get home.” He added that he loved traditional Chinese culture but not the CCP, because it persecutes Falun Gong, persecutes good people.

An extra volunteer

That morning a middle-aged Chinese lady, Ms. Qiu, came up to the booth. Practitioners talked with her and learned that she had been in Sweden for over seven years and was working in a local hospital. She came with her sister, who went into another hall. She came to Falun Gong’s booth to learn more about the practice. In the beginning, she spoke to practitioners from long-instilled CCP doctrines. She admitted that the CCP made mistakes but said that all those were understandable.

Patiently, practitioners told her about the persecution in China using their personal experiences. They exposed the evil cult nature of the CCP, citing the millions that had quit the CCP. She was shocked. Finally she asked whether she could sit down to chat more. Her Swedish was very good. A Western practitioner nearby told her that there are people practicing in 114 countries and regions around the world. The book Zhuan Falun has been translated into over 30 languages and published worldwide to popular demand of all nations. In Sweden there are practice sites in more than 30 cities across the country. Most of the practitioners here are Westerners and their families. If Falun Gong was indeed like what the CCP made it out to be, why would so many people follow and like the practice? We had all benefited from Falun Gong.

Ms. Qiu learned that to make this expo a success, many Western practitioners prepared for a long time. A graceful practitioner named Tulla was in her sixties. To prepare for the expo on Saturday and Sunday, she stayed till late Friday night to set up. In the morning she came early again to continue setting up until all was ready. All these people were volunteers, who were doing everything out of their hearts. All they wanted to do was to tell more people that Falun Dafa is good! Witnessing all these things, Ms. Qiu was deeply moved.

Seeing a traditional Chinese practice so popular with Westerners is suffering brutal persecution in China, Ms. Qiu felt very sad. So she became a volunteer in front of the booth. She took the initiative to help and answer questions when people came to the booth to ask for leaflets or to buy books or exercise videos. She also phoned her sister, “I won’t go anywhere. I’ll wait for you here at Falun Gong’s booth. Come and find me when you are ready to go.”

Quietly sitting in the audience to watch practitioners’ exercise demonstrations, she said, “It seems to me that the terrible persecution the CCP waged on Falun Gong did not stamp the practice out. On the contrary, it served to advocate Falun Gong even further. It is the CCP’s persecution that promoted Falun Gong worldwide. Now I will consider learning the practice too.”

A Predestined Relationship

(Clearwisdom.net) Liao Jifeng, 63, is friendly, pleasant, and clear minded. He is an ordinary person with an extraordinary experience. Ever since he can remember, there has always been something directing his choices.

When Liao was five or six years old, he was not interested in toys, snacks, and stories like other kids his age. He dreamed of having a teacher to guide him in how to cultivate. He dreamed of ways to become a deity. He seemed to be born with such thoughts that those his age did not share. The thoughts accompanied him and directed his decisions.

On September 6, 2009, Liao Jifeng (middle) joined a Fa study and experience sharing activity in central Taiwan.

Seeking the Great Way

Liao owns a pawn shop. Since he was six, he had tried out different religions such as Buddhist, Taoist, Christian, and Catholic. Teachings in these religions did not touch him nor improve his health. He spent a lot of time exercising, practicing qigong, Tai-chi Fist, and Xingyi Fist. He practiced a certain qigong for almost 20 years. He joined a charity group to do good things to help society. He believed that he could have made more money if he spent time on his business, but he did not want to make money because he knew clearly money couldn’t buy what he wanted and money certainly couldn’t buy health.

The qigong master Liao had been following had cancer. Liao was worried. Not even the popular qigong master had good health, let alone his followers. He realized that qigong wasn’t the righteous way he was looking for and he stopped practicing it.

Liao was over 50 when his health started to deteriorate. Numbers that were indicators of his health fell out of normal range. He shrank in height over an inch; his imbalanced immune system caused severe hair loss; he needed a catheter in his heart; arthritis and a spinal injury caused him constant pain; and his skin conditions would not go away.

Liao suffered not only physical torments but mental stress. To gain better health, he had learned many qigong practices and had been encouraging others to do them as well. Many people knew him as a spokesperson for health practices, but now he suffered from all kinds of illnesses. He had to go out of town to see the doctors. From 49 to 65, his life was nothing but seeking treatments. His wife was not in good health, either, and that put great pressure on him as well.

Turning Point

In 2003, Liao’s wife started to practice Falun Gong. He did not feel comfortable letting her go alone since she had epilepsy. He drove her to the class and did the exercises with the other practitioners. While doing the second exercise, he could feel something between his arms. He knew it was real. He went back and read the book Zhuan Falun. He was almost certain the teaching was the great way he had been looking for since he was little. The practice was free and did not require giving presents to the teacher on holidays and special occasions. He believed Falun Dafa was the righteous teaching and that he needed to practice it diligently.

Fifteen days into the practice, Liao started to grow hair on his head. At the time he was wearing a wig to cover his hair loss. Liao was very excited. His new hair was black and thick and soft, like that of a child. His hair stylist and people who knew him were surprised to see how he had changed.

There were more visible changes. Liao used to drink, smoke, and chew betel nuts. He smoked two packs of cigarettes a day for many years. After he started to practice Falun Gong, he understood that all of these bad habits were not in line with the requirements for cleansing his body. Liao made up his mind immediately and quit them in a day. He also quit occasional gambling. It shocked everyone who knew him. His friends’ wives all encouraged their husbands to learn from Liao, and he put in great effort to introduce Falun Dafa to them.

Marvelous Rewards

It did not take him long to recover from his illnesses. A year after he started practicing Falun Gong, Liao went in for a check up. All his numbers were normal. He had become very flexible, his chronic skin conditions were gone, and his skin was smoother than before. His inherited incurable blood disease thalassemia was gone, and now he can even donate blood! According to Liao, he felt like 16 when he was 61, and he felt like 11 when he was 62. He is 63 this year and as as healthy, or even healthier, than he was when he was five.

Liao feels comfortable and relaxed. He needs no medication. His life can be described as “carefree.” He sleeps well, eats well, and needs no doctors, thanks to Falun Dafa.

Liao knew that he would not have been as steadfast in the practice had he not suffered what he did before. Falun Dafa helped him escape from death and from all the pain and suffering. He hopes more people can benefit like he does. He now tells people about the beauty of Falun Dafa using his own experiences.

Denouncing the Evil Chinese Communist Party Is the Chinese People’s Only Way of Survival

[PureInsight.org] Today is a bright sunny day, a day to repel the dark force. By rallying here today, along with people all over the world, we are supporting the five million people who have withdrawn from the Chinese Communist Party (CCP). This is the major event in Chinese and world history. It is a symbol that the Chinese people’s humanity and conscience are awakening. Soon a new epoch without the evil Chinese Communist Party will arrive and the kindhearted Chinese people shall restore the glory of China!

In the “Introduction” of “The Nine Commentaries on the Communist Party,” The Epoch Times says, “Throughout its 80-plus years, everything the CCP has touched has been marred with lies, wars, famine, tyranny, massacre and terror.” Eighty million Chinese people have died as the result of the CCP’s tyranny. Under the rule of the CCP, the last several decades have indeed been a time filled with violence, blood and injustice in Mainland China. Today I would like to share my personal experiences and things I have witnessed to reveal the murderous and appalling crimes that the CCP has committed.

The evil CCP promotes conflicts among people and tortures people. By brainwashing people since they were children, it has twisted the Chinese people’s kind nature. It has been sustaining its totalitarian regime through violence and terror. During the Cultural Revolution, the first line that my two-year-old daughter learned from the kindergarten was, “Be prepared to fight!” What a terrible thing to learn! The evil CCP has been poisoning and corrupting generation after generation of Chinese people by instigating hatred and promoting violence. This is the poisonous root cause of the moral decline and the loss of conscience in today’s Chinese society!

The evil CCP has been brutalizing and killing the Chinese people for a long time. It does not rule China by promoting kindness to people. Instead, the CCP tells people that “revolting is the right thing to do” and “struggling against human beings is full of joy.” It has never stopped launching wave after wave of political movements during which the Chinese people are goaded to fight and kill one another. It is because the CCP has been using the violent political movements to reinforce its fascist rule. The CCP has been poisoning the minds of kind-natured Chinese people and turning them into villains more ferocious than tigers and wolves. No one in China can be spared from the CCP’s poisonous rule. Several of my relatives have, in fact, died as the result of the CCP’s tyranny.

During the Land Reform, an uncle of mine was shot to death because he was a landowner. During the horrific Three Anti Campaign, Five Anti Campaign, (Please read Epoch Times “The Nine Commentaries on the Communist Party – Part 7” for details of “Three Anti Campaign” and “Five Anti Campaign.”) another uncle of mine jumped off a building because he was extremely terrified of being tortured again. In the face of the looming persecution against capitalists, another uncle in Shanghai was overcome with fear and killed his family of seven people, including himself, by making the gas line in their home leak. It was terribly tragic! During the Anti-Rightwing Movement, I was a teenager in middle school. One boy in my class was from a farming family. Back then all the farmers had to give their land to the government and work in the government communes instead. His father didn’t like that and wanted to withdraw from the commune. Of course the request was denied. The boy told others, “My father should have the right to join a farming commune if he wishes and withdraw from it if he wishes.” Just because of that one casual comment, the boy was branded a “right-wing member” and subjected to severe persecution. A fellow classmate, who was the secretary at the Communist Party/ Communist Youth League branch at the school, urged all his classmates to denounce him in a public meeting. They forced him to kneel down on the background where he was punched, kicked, cursed, and humiliated. Whenever the school sent the students to the countryside to work in the fields and learn from the farmers, he would be given the heaviest and filthiest work. Sometimes he was made to carry a dozen people’s luggage for several dozen miles all by himself. He was a short boy. With the large load of luggage on his back, he was often covered in sweat and was unable to stand up with his back straight afterwards. Every day he was given everyone’s leftovers for food. He had to report his thoughts in writing on the regular basis. The CCP denounced and physically assaulted him at will. He endured the most ruthless and unjustifiable tortures. He often kneeled down and kowtowed to everyone in tears, begging people to have mercy on him. He had completely lost his dignity as a human being. For the next several decades, this kindhearted, honest and innocent young man continued to suffer from the most incredible tribulations when he went to college, looked for work and looked for a spouse. It has been over 40 years, but each time I thought of him and the sad, lost and desperate look in his eyes, I feel terribly sad.

The Cultural Revolution was a major manifestation of the evil Communist Party’s specter showing its madness all over China, and it was a major disaster for the Chinese people. Millions of people suffered from persecution. Millions of people died in injustice. Countless families were torn apart and destroyed. Countless children became thugs and scoundrels. Numerous books were burned. Numerous historic sites were damaged. Countless Chinese sages’ tombs were destroyed. Countless crimes were committed in the name of revolution. It was estimated that approximately 7.73 million people died of unnatural causes during the Cultural Revolution. In addition, numerous people became handicapped, mentally deranged or spent the rest of their life in depression. Numerous people were separated from their wives and children! My father was a patriotic intellectual. During the Cultural Revolution, he was branded a member of the capitalist class and an authority figure opposed to the revolution and was accused of treason. He was subjected to repeated denunciations in public meetings and suffered from severe mental torture. He became handicapped. The remains of his days were ruined because of the Cultural Revolution.

The evil CCP is representative of all the bandits and demon king of all murderers. It will not think twice to smash the entire world with violence or to wipe out anyone with different opinions. Even before the CCP faced up to the crimes it committed during the Massacre at Tiananmen Square on June 4, 1989, it started the massive and appalling persecution against 100 million Falun Gong practitioners in China. “Defaming their reputation, bankrupting them financially, destroying them physically” is their policy of persecution against Falun Gong practitioners. The policy illustrates the murderous, demonic, and genocidal persecution that Falun Gong practitioners have been suffering from under the CCP. The CCP has been using a large number of different torture methods on Falun Gong practitioners. The tragic cases of torture are frightening. According to incomplete statistics, at the time of writing, more than 2,557 Falun Gong practitioners are known to have died in the hands of the CCP since it started persecuting Falun Gong on July 20, 1999.

The evil CCP does not value loyalty at all. It hasn’t shown any mercy on its own members or even the head of the CCP! During the Cultural Revolution, Zhang Zhixin, a young woman in her 20s and a loyal communist party member, was thrown into prison because she thought the Cultural Revolution was a mistake. She repeatedly suffered gang rapes in prison. Before she was shot to death, the prison guards cut her throat first! What a terrible fate that was! General Peng Dehuai and Chairman Mao Zedong fought side by side for decades as the CCP fought to gain power in China. General Peng had saved Chairman Mao’s life several times during the war. But Mao returned the favor by killing him in the 1960s after he dared to criticize the disastrous farming policy of Mao, which had led to wide-spread famine and death of millions of people. Liu Shaoqi, the Chinese president and another former CCP Chairman, was also thrown into jail overnight for daring to disagree with Chairman Mao’s policies, and died under mysterious circumstances. Since the CCP is capable of treating its own member with such cruelty, how could it be less cruel when it comes to non-CCP members? How can there be any humanity left in the CCP?

The evil CCP is thirsty for blood. It has never stopped its quest to suck more blood from the Chinese people, and its nature will never change. There are photographs showing high-level CCP officials savoring soup made of female human fetuses killed in forced abortions because the officials believe eating the fetuses would give them back their youths! How scary it is! It is a horrible deed that only a demon is capable of committing!

Taking a look back at the CCP’s greedy, violent, shameless and despicable history, how could we believe in the lie that the CCP has been telling the Chinese people for decades, “China will fall apart without the CCP”? Do we want to be the lambs that are completely at the mercy of demons? Do we want to remain as members of the CCP and perish together with the evil CCP when the gods destroy the CCP?

Before the days of the CCP, the Chinese people had once created the most prosperous and glorious civilization. The only way for the Chinese people to save themselves is to wake up from the CCP’s lies and renounce the evil CCP, the murderous demon king.

I hope that all of us will voice our support for the people who have withdrawn from the CCP. Let our voices be spread across the globe, and let us help the Chinese people get rid of the evil Communist Party’s control and bring democracy and freedom to China as soon as possible.

Falun Gong Founder Awarded for Outstanding Spiritual Leadership

The Asia-Pacific Human Rights Foundation gives annual awards to individuals who are making a difference. On September 26, they gave a special award to the founder of Falun Gong. Albert Roman in Los Angeles has the story.

A packed ballroom of over 200 human rights defenders and supporters joined the Asia-Pacific Human Rights Foundation awards ceremony to acknowledge the efforts of nine individuals Saturday evening. Among them was Mr. Li Hongzhi, the founder of the Falun Gong spiritual practice.

Eight of the awards were given for outstanding work in the field of human rights. Among the recipients was Christian Pastor Eddie Romero, who was arrested in China in 2008 during the Olympics for protesting the Chinese regime’s human rights abuses. Dr. Yang Jianli, a Harvard Fellow and 2005 award recipient, also attended the event. Dr. Yang had been jailed for 5 years for helping Chinese labor unions employ non-violent strategies to advocate for their rights.

The award for “Outstanding Spiritual Leadership” was given to Mr. Li Hongzhi, the founder of Falun Gong. Last year’s recipient was the Dalai Lama.

Falun Gong, also called Falun Dafa, is a practice that includes exercises, meditation, and a moral discipline based on the principles of truthfulness, compassion, and tolerance.

In 1999, China’s communist ruler Jiang Zemin launched a campaign to persecute Falun Gong practitioners, sending tens of thousands to labor camps. Amnesty International notes that Falun Gong is among the most severely persecuted groups in China.

The Asia-Pacific Human Rights Foundation found it noteworthy that throughout these past 10 years, Falun Gong practitioners have maintained a strictly peaceful approach to ending the persecution.

Youfu Li, chairman of the U.S. Southwestern Falun Dafa Association, accepted the award on Mr. Li Hongzhi’s behalf.

Youfu Li said, “Mr. Li Hongzhi taught the principles of truthfulness, compassion, tolerance around the world. He helped improved people’s morality. Over the past 10 years the Communist Party has persecuted many people. Falun Gong practitioners have used compassion to expose the Chinese Communist Party.”

Christian Pastor Eddie Romero had this to say about Mr. Li Hongzhi’s award:

[Pastor Eddie Romero]:
“I’m excited to be able to stand there and also to receive along with the Falun Gong leader the awards, because again, we’re standing on the same side of this issue, and to me, it’s important that we stand shoulder to shoulder on this issue and not become fractured over it because I’m not a Falun Gong member and I know he’s not a Christian, but we share this together because we’re sisters and brothers whether they’re Falun Gong or House Christians.”

Labor union advocate Dr. Yang Jianli also commented on the award.

“I’m glad to learn that Mr. Li Hongzhi won this award, and I think he deserves this award. In the past 10 years, Falun Gong represents the most persecuted group in China. In this sense, I think Mr. Li deserves this award.”

The ceremony Saturday evening was a chance for individuals, human rights organizations, and Christian groups to unite, share ideas, and encourage each other to continue their pursuit of freedom for the Chinese people.

Ms. Gao Shunqin Injected with Harmful Drugs at Wuhan City Yangyuan Brainwashing Center

(Clearwisdom.net) Ms. Gao Shunqin, 44, is a Falun Gong practitioner who lives in the Wuchang District, Wuhan City, Hubei Province. She was held at the Yangyuan Brainwashing Center for three months in 2004 and was injected with an unknown drug that was supposed to “break her energy,” as an official working at the center had claimed.

Ms. Gao Shunqin was arrested on February 26, 2004, and held at the No. 1 Wuhan City Detention Center. Those involved in her arrest include officers Zhou Jie and Wu XX from the Wuchang District Police Department, and Yu Guoxuan and Hu Zongsu from Yangyuan Brainwashing Center at the Wuchang District 610 Office.

A month later, on March 16, 2004, Ms. Gao Shunqin was transferred from Wuchang District Police Department to the Yangyuan Brainwashing Center. Wuhan City 610 Office head Hu Shaobin, and brainwashing center head Chen Qiyi, along with Yu Guoxuan, Hu Shanping and Hu Zongsu, were involved in abusing her at the brainwashing center. Two guards and two temporary staff members took turn watching her. During daytime they forcibly tried to brainwash her, and at night they punished her by forcing her to stand straight for long hours. If she sat down or squatted from exhaustion they immediately forced her back to a standing position. They tormented her in this way for two days and two nights. More than ten perpetrators were arranged to brainwash her with lies, deceit and phony facts.

One morning, around April 20, 2004, brainwashing center head Hu Shaobin ordered guards to bring Gao Shunqin to his office. When she tried to tell him Falun Gong facts and details of the persecution, he hypocritically agreed with what she said. However, that afternoon she was injected with unknown drugs under duress, and subjected to tortures for the following three days.

At around 2:30 p.m. the same, staff person Hu Shanping, abusers Gao Jinrong, Xu Dexi, Zhou Zhiying, and Che Jianhua exchanged visual signals. Together they dragged Gao Shunqin and held her against a conference desk. Then a woman doctor surnamed Wang XX immediately gave her an injection.

Ms. Gao noticed several people including Hu Shaobin, Chen Qiyi, and Yu Guoxuan, standing outside of the door of the conference room with pleasant facial expressions. She asked what kind of injection she was just given. Chen Qiyi said, “It is used to break your energy.” Abuser Gao Jinrong said, “It is a nutritional supplement.” Ms. Gao asked the doctor what it was. The doctor answered she didn’t know. Ms. Gao questioned, “How can you say you don’t know what you just injected me with? I’m not sick. Why did you give me the injection?” The doctor pointed to those standing outside and said, “They ordered me to do so.” Ms. Gao said, “As a doctor, you should follow professional ethics.” Hu Shaobin and others came and threatened her. Hu said, “We have all kinds of ways to deal with you.”

At around 4:00 p.m., Ms. Gao was locked into a dark, small room. She was forced to stand straight, with arms stretched out, while being handcuffed to a fixed object. The poison injection and the handcuffing made her dizzy, her heartbeat became irregular, and she felt generally ill. She was not let down until midnight when she was allowed to use the restroom. After that, she was again handcuffed and locked to a window frame in the big conference room until 8:00 a.m. the next morning.

Since Ms. Gao Shunqin refused to be brainwashed, brainwashing center head Chen Qiyi ordered her tortured again. She was hung with both hands cuffed to a window frame in the dinning hall – from 9:00 a.m. to midnight, about 16 hours. She asked the guard several times to tell the doctor on duty that she was not well. The doctor simply ignored her. Only after she lost consciousness did they finally remove her handcuffs.

Gao Shunqin is not the only one who was subjected to torture at the Yangyuan Brainwashing Center. Falun Gong practitioners Zhu Bangfu, Liu Limin and Jinhao were also mistreated there.

“I Want to Learn This Exercise!”–Promoting Falun Dafa at the “Taste of St. Louis” Event

(Clearwisdom.net) When the fall comes, it is the time for the annual “Taste of St. Louis” event where people come out to the streets to enjoy music, delicious foods from all over the world, and look at the arts and culture demonstrations. Local Falun Dafa practitioners participated in the three-day event on October 2-4, and demonstrated the Falun Gong exercises on the stage for two days. Many people watched the demonstration and wanted to learn the exercises.

“Taste of St. Louis” is a major city event that attracted 300,000 visitors last year. It included various food tasting, live music, and culture and art performances.

When the peaceful Falun Gong exercise music started at the stage, many people were attracted to the exercise demonstration. On the stage, a westerner practitioner introduced the exercises to the audience. “The Falun Gong exercise is an ancient Chinese cultivation practice based on principles of ‘Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance.’ Since it is introduced to public in 1992, it has benefited millions of people all over the world.” After a brief introduction of each set of exercise, practitioners demonstrated all five sets of exercises. Some people followed their movements and began learning under the stage.

After watching the demonstration and learning that the Chinese Communist Party is persecuting practitioners in China, many people took a flier to learn more about it.

One lady said she had heard about Falun Gong being persecuted in China, and today was her first time seeing Falun Gong in person. She said it was unbelievable that such a peaceful exercise is being persecuted in China.

A man who watched the demonstration from start to end asked for several fliers. He said he had a relative who had been searching for a meditation exercise for a long time. He said that since he found this exercise today he will contact his relative to find a local exercise teaching site.

Mr. Osai, the event stage manager, is an enthusiastic young lad who provided thoughtful services to Falun Gong’s two demonstrations. He later asked the practitioners for more information. When he learned that Chinese practitioners were jailed and organs harvested, he was shocked. After learning about the persistence and courage of Falun Dafa practitioners in China, he expressed his respect. He was later seriously reading Falun Dafa fliers between the performances.

After the demonstration on the second day, an African American ran to the stage and asked a practitioner, “I’ve watched your demonstration for two days. Please tell me, where is the free teaching? I want to learn this exercise!” He said his name was Visten, and he came from Virginia. The practitioner told him how to find a local exercise teaching site in Virginia online and that all exercise instruction is free of charge. “Its great. Very good, I must learn Falun Gong.” he said.

An American who has practiced Taichi for over a decade was also very interested in the Falun Gong demonstration, but for some reason he missed the schedule, so he asked for the address of an exercise practice site, and said he wanted to learn the exercise.

On the first day, a local TV station sent a crew to videotape the Falun Gong demonstration. On the second day, the host of the TV station introduced Falun Gong to the audience.

When the event was ending, the organizers thanked the practitioners for bringing the fresh and saintly exercise demonstration to the event.

Australia: Falun Gong Practitioners Participate in Mid-Autumn Festival Celebration in Western Sydney

(Clearwisdom.net) On September 27, 2009, Falun Gong practitioners were invited to take part in the large-scale Mid-Autumn Festival celebration held in the Cabramatta area in western Sydney. It was the tenth time for Falun Gong practitioners to participate in this event since 2000.

People learn the facts about Falun Gong

The annual Mid-Autumn Festival celebration is always a grand occasion for Chinese and people of Asian descent in western Sydney. About seventy to eighty thousand people take part in it. Practitioners were once again invited this year. They set up a booth to introduce Falun Gong and clarify the facts about the persecution. Once again they presented the public the magnificence of Falun Gong and exposed the brutal persecution imposed upon practitioners by the Chinese Communist Party. Many Asian people gained a deeper understanding of Falun Gong from this event.

Practitioners also demonstrated and taught the exercises at the event. Many tourists watched the demonstration and started to learn the exercises.
