Those Who Carry Out Persecution Suffer Karmic Retribution

By a practitioner from China

(Clearwisdom.net) Editors’ Note: In both Western and Chinese culture, the principle of karmic retribution, that is, being held ultimately accountable for one’s own actions, is widely accepted. The fundamental teaching of Falun Gong is the characteristic of the universe, “Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance.” The universe will reward actions that are in harmony with this principle, while actions such as beating, torturing, and murdering people will incur karmic retribution. Stated another way, good deeds will be rewarded with good, while evildoings will meet due retribution. Articles such as this one are meant as a compassionate reminder of this principle to those who would commit wrongdoing. While many of those who persecute Falun Gong are merely “following orders,” the universal law requires that they too be held responsible for their actions, and that only by reversing their course of wrongdoing may they escape retribution.

Huang Fazeng was formerly a party secretary of Anxin County in Hebei Province. A party secretary from a neighboring county once asked him how to stop practitioners from making appeals. Huang told him that people are most afraid of their homes being ransacked, while officials fear being removed from their positions. Subsequently, the homes of many practitioners in the neighboring county who went to make appeals were ransacked, and several low-ranking officials were fired from their jobs. Just over a month later, Huang Fazeng was suddenly diagnosed with cancer and eventually died.

Jin Dianyuan was formerly a party secretary of Dingxing County in Hebei Province. He was responsible for the arrest and detention of ten practitioners. These practitioners were subsequently sent to forced labor camps. After he was transferred to become head of the Baoding City Water Bureau, he was sentenced to 16 years in prison for corruption and bribery.

Wang Zhongjun was head of Baoding County 610 Office in Hainan Province. While participating in persecuting practitioners, he once shouted, “You claim that there is karmic retribution. Where is it? I have arrested many practitioners and yet I am have not experienced retribution.” Less than a month after he made this statement, his only son in Guangzhou was poisoned by a liquefied petroleum gas leakage and subsequently died. On May 8, 2004, his wife committed suicide by jumping into a well.

Zhang Shiming was the first head of the Huanggang City 610 Office in Hubei Province. On February 14, 2005, he suddenly had a heart attack and passed away. He was only 48 years old at the time.

Wang Kewu, the second head of the Huanggang City 610 Office, suffered from acute liver cancer and died three days before Tomb Sweeping Day in 2005.

Li Qun, head of the Yakeshi City 610 Office in Inner Mongolia, died of cancer.

Ren Changxia, head of the Dengfeng City Police Department in Henan Province, was in a serious car accident on April 13, 2004. Ren was sitting in the back seat and was thrown out of the car from the impact of the accident, causing her death. Ren had been actively involved in the persecution of practitioners. The day before her death, she personally gave orders for the arrest of two dozen practitioners.

He Xuejian was a police officer at Dongchengfang Town Police Station in Zhuozhou City, Hebei Province. On November 25, 2005, he viciously beat and raped practitioner Liu Jizhi, who was nearly his mother’s age. He Xuejian was sentenced to eight years in prison. During his imprisonment, he developed cancer in his penis. To save his life, the doctor removed his penis and testicles. He subsequently tried to end his life three times by jumping off a building, but was unsuccessful.

Cao Gang, male, 48 years old, was head of Yuzhou City Police Department in Henan Province. When he was head of Xuchang City Detention Center in late 2000, he instigated prison guards to beat detained practitioners, and brutally forced-fed many practitioners. After he became the head of Yuzhou City Police Department in 2004, Cao Gang arrested and sent many practitioners to jail and forced labor camps. Practitioner Sun Guanzhou, 62, a professor at the Yuzhou City Teacher’s Institute for Further Studies, was seized by officers from the Domestic Security Division on March 3, 2008, and then tortured to death on March 9. Cao Gang cannot shirk his responsibility for Sun Guanzhou’s death. In March 2010, Cao Gang was arrested and sentenced to ten years of imprisonment for corruption and bribery.

Long Qingfu was the head of the Shiping County 610 Office in Yunnan Province. On June 22, 2003, together with the deputy head, he took part in a meeting about deploying forces for persecuting Falun Gong. On the way back, they were involved in a car accident. Long Qingfu died on the spot and the deputy head was seriously injured.

Men Yijing and Bai Weiquan were both heads of Qingyang County 610 Office in Gansu Province. On January 8, 2003, they left the office to take part in persecution activities against Falun Gong. The car they were in overturned and both were killed.

Deng Changlong was section head of the 610 Office in Changan Corporation’s No. 1 Factory in Chongqing. He died of lung cancer in 2000. Wu Wei, the current section head of the 610 Office, has terminal liver cancer.

Zhang Jianzhong, who is in his fifties, is deputy head of the Yantai City Legal Bureau. When he was head of Haiyang City Police Department, many practitioners were sent to forced labor camps, sentenced to prison, and extorted of money. In 2011, Zhang died from a sudden heart attack caused by excessive drinking.

Zhao Xinli was head of the Haiyang City Detention Center in Shandong Province. He abused and beat detained practitioners. In 2004, Zhao, who was usually in good health, contracted acute liver disease and died. He was in his fifties.

Sun Mingyi was an officer at the Lidian Police Station in Haiyang City. In the early days of the persecution of Falun Gong in 1999, he was an active participant. In early 2000, he was killed in a car accident. He was in his early forties.

Xu Dongsheng, deputy head of the Haiyang City 610 Office in Shandong Province, planned and personally carried out the arrests of practitioners taking the position in 2001. On November 7, 2006, his 9-year-old son was killed in a car accident. Before that, his wife had breast cancer for three years, and has since been undergoing chemotherapy treatments.

Shao Wenbing, head of the Haiyang City 610 Office, gave orders for carrying out the persecution of practitioners. Under his instructions, practitioners were tortured to death, sent to forced labor camps, and detained. While driving his car on December 25, 2001, the steering wheel malfunctioned and the car flipped over. Shao broke seven ribs, his internal organs and stomach shifted, and he was admitted into Haiyang City Hospital.

True Good Fortune: There Is No Language Barrier to Learning the Essence of the Buddha Fa

By Yi Jiayan

(Clearwisdom.net)

“I remember that night clearly. I sat in the soybean field at dusk, tears filling my eyes. I was at my aunt’s farm in North Carolina. I begged God to show me the way. I said that I only wanted to do what was right, even if the truth contradicted what I knew.”

Emil Harrison, a college student (艾米·哈里森)

Like others, Emil Harrison had been looking for the truth in many different ways. He wanted to do what was right, but he did not know how. A few days after his prayer, a miracle happened. He said, “Three days later, I started a new job at a summer camp and had a chat with my coworker, who said he had been doing meditation for over a year and half and showed me a copy of Zhuan Falun the next day. I started to read it every day. After reading the book for three weeks, I told him that I wanted to learn the exercise movements. He used the little time he had in the morning before his wedding to teach me the exercises. Then I went home and he went to the church to be married. Later, I went to an experience sharing conference in Washington, D.C. At the meeting, I was amazed to see such a group of selfless people. By joining the activity, I started to truly understand the meaning of Master Li’s Fa. I had a new set of principles to follow. I not only understood the reason, but also comprehended the meanings deep in my heart.”

An American, Emil Harrison, did not know Chinese at the time. However, by reading translated materials, he was still able to understand the true meaning of Master Li’s Fa. Thus, we can see that the power of the Fa can overcome the language barrier.

John was a shy, 16-year-old high school student in 2008. In April of 2008, he downloaded a translated version of Zhuan Falun. He started reading it two months later. Once he started reading it, many of his questions were answered. John felt that he had to learn more about Falun Gong, the only truth to help people reach salvation.

二零一零年九月四日,面带羞涩的年轻人约翰第一次来到曼哈顿的唐人街,用善心向中国人讲真相。

On September 4, 2010, John went to Manhattan’s Chinatown for the first time. He clarified the truth about Falun Gong to Chinese people with a compassionate heart.

Mr. Thomas Dobson is French. During the first year when he started practicing Falun Dafa, he only knew the principles of Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance and the exercises. He finally obtained a copy of the French version Zhuan Falun and started reading it.

Mr. Suyana (苏亚那) is from Indonesia. At 23 he was a construction worker when two serious accidents left him in constant pain. One year after practicing Falun Gong, the pain that had troubled him for 27 years was gone. He quit his old habits of smoking and drinking. He read the Indonesian language version of Zhuan Falun. As he was reading Lunyu and Lecture One, he could not stop crying. His heart was filled with happiness.

Mr. Chen Keren from Korea is the CEO and senior manager of an online game website, iwanzi.com. After Mr. Chen started to practice Dafa in 2006, his business, which had been doing poorly, soon turned around. Mr. Chen started learning Falun Gong by reading the Korean version of Zhuan Falun, which he downloaded from the Clearwisdom website. After he finished Zhuan Falun, he went on to read other Dafa books. He just kept on reading, one after another.

Falun Gong is also called Falun Dafa. Master Li Hongzhi started teaching the practice in 1992 in Changchun, China. Since then it has so far been embraced in over 100 countries. There are several hundred million practitioners worldwide. Falun Gong books have been translated into 39 languages, so that people who do not speak Chinese can read the books and follow the principles of Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance. Their minds and health will improve.

Ms. Jacey Godre (洁欣·高得瑞) is a college professor at the University of Melbourne. In September 2001, she watched a documentary about Falun Gong on ABC-TV. She was intensely drawn to this cultivation path and started to practice Falun Gong. Doing the exercises, she felt a current of warmth pouring down from her head to her toes. This feeling lasted three months. Also to her surprise, she did not feel fatigued anymore when swimming. She was able to swim without getting out of breath. This happened within three weeks of practicing Falun Gong. She kept on swimming, tears streaming down face. Falun Dafa not only cured her illnesses, it also calmed her mind. She used to have a short temper and always spoke her mind. She never thought about her words hurting others’ feelings. Nowadays, she is able to think of others when she speaks and to not blame anyone if things do not go her way.

Ms. Connie Chipkar is a Canadian. She said, “I remember how happy and holy I felt when I joined the nine-day Fa lectures for the first time. My heart felt warm when I shared this experience, I felt the purity of Dafa, and tears ran down my cheeks. I remember I finished reading Zhuan Falun in one day and being completely immersed in it, as if Master was leading me through the pages. Now I get up at five o’clock every day and start my day by reading Zhuan Falun. It seems like Master is rewriting the book for me every day. I also end my day by reading Zhuan Falun. I sleep with Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance in my mind. Slowly, I sleep less and less and read more and more. Truthfulness has harmonized my life.”

Mr. Micheal Hackmayer is a gardener in Germany. In the 1980s, Michael was a lead singer and played the keyboard for the band “Wild Frontier.” He was a popular young man with long hair who danced and sang on stage. He left the band because his throat was bothering him. He became a gardener. In 2002, he read Zhuan Falun and thought the principles of Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance were very good, and he wanted to be someone like that. After learning the exercises, his back pain was gone. He had tried many remedies for this problem before, but none had worked.

Micheal Hackmayer

Former rock singer Michael changed his singing style. In January 2005, Michael performed at the Queen Elizabeth Hall in London in a Chinese New Year concert.

As Michael started to sing again, he discovered that his throat was recovering slowly. His style of singing had also changed in a positive way. His long hair and trendy clothing were replaced by a crew cut and suit. A mellow country tone replaced the hard rock style. Immer feiner, Immer klarer is the first song written and sung by Michael since he started cultivation. There is a story to this song.

“Half a year after I began cultivating, I had a desire to use music to express the changes Dafa had on me. Once when I was scraping mud off the potatoes, these words came to mind: “Immer feiner, immer klarer.” A melody also appeared in my head. The melody played again and again in my head, and it became more and more clear. During the next two to three weeks, this melody kept on playing in my head, and the rhyme and lyrics became more and more enriched. Eventually it became a complete song.”

Part of the lyrics go like this:

“My heart is very sober
Therefore, greed, fear, and pain have no place in it
I began to feel tranquil
because the truth is in my mind
It is unshakable
I then knew where I was
Zhen is truthfulness
Shan is compassion
Ren is forbearance
Finer and clearer
Every word is deeply reflected”

A German used a lyric written in German to express his mental state. This is no different from Chinese Dafa practitioners using Chinese to express their state of mind. Falun Dafa has helped practitioners became more and more peaceful and more and more harmonized with the characteristics of the universe, Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance.

In fact, many people from different countries around the world can find true happiness in Falun Dafa. Although the Falun Dafa teachings were originally written in Chinese, the power of the truth can never be limited by language.

A German Practitioner Recalls His Arrest on Tiananmen Square Ten Years Ago for Holding a Banner that Says “Falun Dafa is Good”

By a Falun Dafa practitioner in Germany

(Clearwisdom.net) Ten years ago on February 14, 2002, Andre Huber, a Falun Gong practitioner from Germany, went to Tiananmen Square in Beijing to protest the Chinese Communist regime’s illegal persecution of Falun Gong. He was joined by three practitioners from Sweden, one from the U.S., and one from Japan. The Chinese policemen unlawfully arrested, imprisoned, and repatriated them. During his arrest and in police custody, Huber was beaten and insulted.

Falun Gong practitioner Andre Huber from Germany is unlawfully arrested at Tiananmen Square in Beijing.

I held up a yellow banner that says ‘Falun Dafa is good’”

“At 2 p.m. on February 14, 2002, I held up a yellow banner that says ‘Falun Dafa is good’ on Tiananmen Square and shouted ‘Falun Dafa is good!’” Huber paused here. His mind seemed to go back to ten years ago. “Just like I expected, in less than ten seconds, policemen jumped upon and held me down on the ground,” Huber continued.

Policemen Fiercely Elbowed My Neck and Head

According to Huber, a few seconds after he raised his banner, several policemen from 50 yards away were immediately alerted and rushed toward him. The police knocked him down, seized his banner, and tried to drag him into a police vehicle. He got away and tried to stand up. The group of police grabbed his arms and legs and picked him up. Huber was put in a second police car. “I grabbed a handle on the door and tried to escape but they pulled me away,” Huber remembered. In a photograph taken at the time of his arrest, he counted seven policemen holding him.

Huber was pushed down on the floor of the police car. “My head was pressed down between my legs and a policeman sat on my back. I couldn’t move and had a hard time breathing. Before the car took off, the police in the driver seat hit my head and neck with his elbow fiercely. Other police kept hitting my head.”

The police grabbed Huber by his collar and dragged him into the Tiananmen Police Station. “At the moment, I realized that I had only one shoe on, my belt and sweater were torn, and my backpack was missing,” Huber remembered. He was photographed and interrogated before he was put into another vehicle. This time, about 15 police officers went into the vehicle with him. No one told him where they were going, why he was captured, what would happen, and how long it was going to take.

Police: In China, there is no such thing as international law

Huber and his fellow practitioners from outside China were taken to a building near Beijing Airport that “looked like a hotel but was empty inside.” Three officers interrogated him, asking for his name, address, and passport. He told them that he would not answer any questions before he contacted the German Embassy. The police threatened to imprison him in China for a long time. Huber told them it was his civil right to contact the German Embassy and it was also his basic human right according to international law.

As they entered a gate, Huber thought he was being taken to a prison. He told an officer, “I don’t want to go to a prison, why do you imprison me? I am protected by international law.” The officer told him, “In China, there is not such thing as international law. The UN has no say here. You will be locked up for five years and no one will know where you are.”

The Prison Was Very Cold and Smelled Like Feces

Huber, along with a Swedish and a Japanese practitioner, were locked in a cell less than 15 square feet. There were a total of ten people locked in the cell. The walls were cracked and the ceiling was full of spider webs. There was a surveillance camera on the ceiling to monitor their every movement. There was a hole in the ground, which served as the ‘toilet’ and shower drainage. The cell smelled like feces. Huber remembered it being very cold. Everyone could only sleep on his side against one another. Still they often woke up at night freezing. During the day, they had to sit on the ground facing the toilet all the time if they were not eating or resting. They were not allowed to go outside.

Chinese Cell Mates Found that the Foreigners Were Normal and Polite

Huber discovered that the practitioners’ appearance surprised their Chinese cell mates. The Chinese inmates wondered why there were so many Westerners practicing Falun Gong and why they came all the way to China to protest the persecution. They found that these practitioners were “normal, healthy, rational, polite and sincere, unlike what it says on TV.” A young inmate who spoke good English translated for Huber and helped him clarify the facts about the persecution to the other inmates.

Huber noticed that every time he mentioned Jiang Zemin, the Chinese leader who launched the persecution of Falun Gong, the inmates began to actively engage in conversations to criticize Jiang. There were many jokes that belittled Jiang. Huber remembered one of them clearly to this day, “Every day Jiang wakes up and the first thing he asks is: Where did the Falun Gong practitioners protest?” Huber realized that Falun Gong had great impact in China and Jiang’s regime was being laughed at for being scared of Falun Gong.

Beijing Police Violated My Human Rights Because I Practice Falun Gong

Huber was detained for three days. On February 17, he was taken to a representative from the German Embassy. Only then did the German consul learn that Huber was locked in a detention center. On February 18, he boarded a plane and headed home. “I was illegally detained in Beijing for 94 hours, including the 60 hours in a detention center. The Chinese police beat me. I remained polite and non-violent. I did not insult any police. They police in Beijing violated my human rights only because I am a Falun Gong practitioner,” said Huber.

Huber at a 2011 Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance Art Exhibition in Freiburg, Germany, talking to people about Falun Gong.

A Steadfast Falun Dafa Practitioner

Huber has shown an interest in Buddhism since he was young. His mother introduced him to Falun Dafa in 1998. For the past 14 years, he has been a steadfast and diligent practitioner. He is a school teacher and when he has a chance, he tells the facts about Falun Dafa to other teachers and students. He has also spoken about Dafa to the city mayor, the city councilors, and the media.

A Past Event: South Korean Tourists Sit Cross-legged on Tiananmen Square, Armed Police Arrest Them Supposing They Are Falun Gong Practitioners

By Xu Ziling, a Chinese practitioner living outside China

(Clearwisdom.net)

My friend is a tour guide for an overseas international travel agency. I once clarified the truth to her and persuaded her to quit the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) and its affiliated organizations. She accepted what I said but she did not fully believe in the severity of the persecution of Falun Gong. She felt that I was exaggerating things. But later, when she was hired to work in China, she said to me, “The CCP is really horrible. What you told me is actually true.”

Then she told me about her trip to China. This time her company assigned her a group of sixty tourists composed of overseas Chinese from Beijing. When her group went to Tiananmen Square to take pictures, she saw a colleague leading more than twenty South Korean tourists to Tiananmen Square as well. She decided to go talk to her colleague. Korean people have the habit of sitting cross-legged on the ground to talk. She noticed that those South Korean tourists were tired, so they put their travel bags on the ground and sat cross-legged, forming a circle to chat to each other.

After no more than five minutes, a long police vehicle and many armed police and plainclothes police rushed towards them. The tourists were terrified. The police hastily pushed all the South Korean tourists to the ground regardless of whether they were men or women, then they started loading them into the police vehicle. At the same time, the armed police were constantly shouting, “Do not move!” But since the Koreans could not understand Chinese, two young Korean students refused to go in the police vehicle, asking what the police wanted to do. The armed police trampled their legs, hit them in the abdomen and covered their mouths at the same time. Within a few seconds, the police threw the students into the vehicle and the vehicle drove away very quickly. The rest of the plainclothes police started to interrogate the other frightened tourists one by one. The police asked their names, nationality and whether they were Falun Gong practitioners. When the police made sure they were not Falun Gong practitioners, an official warned them, “You are not allowed to speak irresponsibly. Forget everything that happened today, otherwise you will be responsible for all the consequences.” Then they let the tourists go.

When my friend talked about this, she became frightened. I asked her what happened to the South Korean tourists. She said very angrily, “The police finished the investigation and found they were not Falun Gong practitioners. Then they released the South Korean tourists. But the police did not even apologize for what they did to the tourists. I heard from the South Korean tourists that the police did not allow the tourists to speak in the police vehicle. As soon as the tourists started to speak, the police beat them. The tourists were all really scared. On their way back to South Korea, they constantly talked about how the Chinese police are horrible, too horrible to imagine. The police also threatened the tourists, telling them that they were not allowed to speak of this to anyone. The police also said they had the tourists on file and they would be responsible for any consequences if they talked about the incident to anyone.”

After my friend described what happened in China, she said to me, “After this, I realized that what you told me about the persecution of Falun Gong is true. The CCP is really evil. They do not have any humanity. I sincerely hope that your fellow practitioners in China will be safe. I hope that God can see your tribulation and end this as soon as possible. You should not return to China — it is too dangerous there. It is so easy for a person to disappear in China. I am afraid that you will be hurt.”

A Past Event: Bloody Scene on Tiananmen Square (Photos)

(Clearwisdom.net)

On February 9, 2007, two fellow practitioners and I went to Tiananmen Square to send forth righteous thoughts. We arrived there at 11:10 in the morning. We circled the square while sending forth righteous thoughts. When it was close to 12:00, the time for global sending forth righteous thoughts, we stood under a light pole to clean our thoughts. Facing us was a lawn and I saw a gentleman sitting there motionless. Because there was still quite a bit distance between us, I didn’t see clearly what he was doing. It was noon and the sky suddenly became cloudy. Out of nowhere police suddenly came towards that gentleman. Soon they pressed him to the ground and showered him with kicks. A police car drove in and the police dragged him to the car and then covered the ground where he was beaten with papers. A while later an ambulance came and the police transferred him from the police car to the ambulance. Then both vehicles drove away. The area was blocked by police and nobody was allowed to get close.

The whole incident lasted only 4-5 minutes.

After the police left, three plainclothes policemen led two cleaning ladies with water buckets, brooms and mops to clean the bloody scene. One policeman picked the papers that were used to cover the ground and threw them in the trash can which was then stained with the blood from the paper. Another policeman then tried to rub the blood stain off the trash can. The ground was covered with blood. The cleaning ladies washed away the blood with water and mopped the ground. We saw the mops were also stained with blood.

The cleaning ladies kept working to remove the blood and they showed no emotions at all. It is apparent that they’ve been accustomed to the police’s brutality.
