Professor of Dance: ‘I became the spectacle that I was watching’

BUENOS AIRES, Argentina—It was a packed house for the third Shen Yun Performing Arts show held at the Auditorio Belgrano in Buenos Aires on June 29, where the crowd saluted performers with a standing ovation and were treated to three encores.

Ms. Russing, a Professor of Argentinean Folkloric Dance, was in the audience to experience the magic.

She said she loved it because she doesn’t know much about modern dance, but this event displayed traditional dance.

“I became the spectacle that I was watching, the unfolding, the sound, the tricks of the backdrop, the colors. I saw myself in that place; I saw that country in antiquity, not only a fantasy.

“It conveyed happiness to me. The ending surprised me. I felt happy. It carried out the good intention of explaining the culture to us,” she explained.

This performing arts show is certainly no ordinary show. Many people who see it are touched, left speechless and even moved to tears. Ms. Russing was no exception.

“The emotion conveyed through the technology was fantastic. I loved the ending because it makes an appeal to the sentiments. It is fantastic, brilliant; it is something out of the ordinary,” she said.

Shen Yun will be performing in Buenos Aires until July 5. Santiago, Chile, will host three shows from July 10 to 12. The show will then return to Argentina on July 16, this time in Cordoba, performing three shows until July 18.
