Hundreds participated in a rally and parade at Clarence Square Park in downtown Toronto last Saturday, celebrating the tide of Chinese nationals withdrawing from the Chinese Communist Party (CCP).

According to rally organizers, over 117 million Chinese in China and around the world have renounced their memberships in the Communist Party and its affiliated organizations. At the June 9 Toronto event, which was held in Chinese, 21 mainland Chinese proudly displayed their certificates of withdrawal, and some took a moment to share their thoughts and feelings.

Toronto resident Mr. Weng said there is now a consensus among Chinese people that the CCP will soon collapse. He said he wants to urge more people to learn the truth and quit from the CCP. “I hope more people make the right choice during this period of historical change,” he said.

Mr. Cai, also a Toronto resident, said he had already withdrawn from the CCP seven years ago. Cai said after reading the book Nine Commentaries on the Communist Party, first published as an editorial series by The Epoch Times in November 2004, he fully understood the CCP’s true nature.

“The CCP is an evil spirit that goes against the universe and is against humanity, so you have to renounce your relationship with it publicly,” he said.

Two people from Mainland China called in during the rally wanting to congratulate everyone for quitting the CCP.

Hu Junxiong from Hebei Province said he joined the Party when he was young because he was deceived by the CCP’s lies. He witnessed the June 4, 1989 Massacre, and saw the army killing unarmed students and citizens.

Hu said that he quit all the CCP’s organizations using his real name. “I now go about my work with a clear conscience as I have gotten rid of the sense of unease and guilt I carried in my heart,” Hu said.

Zhang Weijung from Shanghai said that after his house was robbed in 1998, he became homeless. “Everyone knows that the CCP encourages moral corruption and thus thieves and liars are rampant everywhere in China nowadays. But the biggest thief is the Communist Party. To those who still have not quit the CCP, I say right here: you should immediately quit it! Without the Communist Party, there will be a new China!” Zhang said, turning a Party propaganda slogan on its head.

Having attended an event for Chinese people to withdraw from the three organizations affiliated with the CCP several times, Mr. Liu, a Toronto resident, said it is “a great encouragement to us Chinese people.”

Clear Message

Chinese historian and social commentator Su Mingzai urged Chinese people to wake up and not go down with the CCP. “One hundred and seventeen million brave people have quit from the CCP, sending the world a clear message. Those Chinese who still live under the CCP’s rule need to quickly awaken from the horror.

“There are conservative people and stubborn people, and some who hang on to the CCP, and they will sink down with it. But no one wants to be held accountable alongside the CCP’s crimes. We will see those who stand by the CCP suffer even more as humanity’s long-lost divine culture and the human dignity are being reinstated.”

A host for the New York-based New Tang Dynasty Television, Shi Tao, said that as the truth of the CCP continues to be revealed, everyone faces choices. “By quitting before the Communist Party disintegrates, that’s being true to yourself,” he told The Epoch Times.
